What Does my uterus Scan Result Mean?

FINDINGS: The uterus is anteverted and normal in size measuring 7.6 x 4.4 x 5.5

cm. Normal ovarian parenchyma. No masses. Normal vascularity.

The left ovary measures 1.8 x 2.0 x 1.9 cm containing a dominant hypoechoic to

anechoic follicle, measuring 1.4 x 1.3 x 1.3 cm, with some internal echogenic

stripes but no flow on color Doppler, likely a resolving hemorrhagic cyst. No

suspicious masses. Normal vascularity.

1. Heterogeneous uterine echotexture primarily involving the posterior

myometrium and asymmetrically thickened. If there is clinical suspicion of

adenomyosis, pelvic MRI may be obtained.

2. Small subserosal posterior body fibroid with likely resolving hemorrhagic

cyst in the left ovary.

Welcome to Health care magic.

1.Heterogeneous echo-texture of the uterus seen in case of adenomyosis - inflammatory / infective changes in the uterus. In this case hormonal treatment is given. Which will be better assessed in the MRI scan if there is clinical suspicion ( means symptoms related to the findings).
2.There is a small fibroid ( mass lesion in the uterus on the outer side) which will be tried initially conservatively.
3.There is a hemorrhagic cyst in left ovary for which you need to get a followup scan after 3 months, if symptomatic - you need immediate action.
4.Followup scan to see the status - if resolving increase / decrease in size and accordingly action will be taken.
5.Rest of the findings in your reports seems to be normal.

Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
